English Brown Yak Lace border

Need thread characterization.

Brown wool Yak lace in a simple Cluny-like design. Despite the name, the thread was a Yorkshire woolen product. It was developed by Mr. E. Godfroy of Buckingham, who introduced this as a novelty lace in the 1850's. Little survives due to the delicacy of the thread.
